The public heard a very popular topic discussed at the regular public meeting of the PEI Genealogical Society on Saturday 11 March at 2:00 p.m. at Beaconsfield’s Carriage House, Charlottetown.
Guest Speaker Sarah Fisher’s talk on her search for her grandfather proved to be very interesting. And it was a delight for everyone present to meet in person again after so long.
Sarah spoke on:
“Finding My Italian Grandfather:
After 20+ years of searching, and with the help of DNA and classic genealogical search techniques, I was able to find the man that had eluded our family for 75 years.”
Without a name to go by, Sarah explained how she found her long lost Nonno (Grandfather). DNA access played a pivotal role in here success. One review from the audience applauded Sarah’s sharing of her story. They found it to be “very informative and helped with a few areas in tracing/finding info on missing ancestors”.
Great job Sarah!
