Public Meeting PEIGS – Saturday 28 September 2019

The PEI Genealogical Society invites you to a public meeting to be held on Saturday, September 28th, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at the Carriage House located at Beaconsfield Historic House on the corner of Kent & West Streets in Charlottetown.

The guest speaker will be Linda Libby speaking on “DNA – Challenges to its effective use as a Genealogical Tool.” Like many other current family researchers Linda is a relative ‘newbie’ to family history research having entered ‘through the DNA door’ only a few years ago. She soon learned that DNA can provide an effective way to connect to those who share ancestors. There are, however, some challenges in its use – from understanding the technology and jargon, to tantalizing matches who don’t respond to the potentially overwhelming number of matches.

All are welcome.   Admission is free and refreshments will be available.

The meeting is a great opportunity to network with others and support genealogy and heritage by considering a membership in the society.
