Public Meeting PEIGS – Saturday 22 February 2020

The PEI Genealogical Society invites you to a public meeting to be held on Saturday, 22 February 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at the Carriage House located at Beaconsfield Historic House on the corner of Kent & West Streets in Charlottetown.

This year marks the 300th anniversary of the founding of the colony of Île-Saint-Jean. In recognition of this significant event historian, author, and folklorist Georges Arsenault will be our guest speaker. His topic will be “Place names and families of Île-Saint-Jean”. You are invited to join him for a trip back in time to the 1750s to discover some of the origins of Acadian community names and hear stories of some of the inhabitants.

All are welcome.   Admission is free and refreshments will be available.

The meeting is a great opportunity to network with others and support genealogy and heritage by considering a membership in the society. This meeting is our annual activity in celebration of Heritage Week on Prince Edward Island.
